Hampton
Andrew began his working life as an Actor / Musician performing on the West End stage and in Repertory Theatre around the UK. At the age of 28 he took a job teaching Clarinet and Saxophone at The King Alfred School in North London. In 1994 he became Head of Music and published his first volume of Jazz pieces for Saxophone with Faber Music. He then studied Educational Leadership and Management at Masters level before completing his National Professional Qualification for Headship. His first Headship was at Dagfa House School in Nottingham before coming south to run Thorpe Hall School in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 2007. Andrew was Chair of the Independent Schools Associatiion in 2014 -15 and a Director of the Independent Schools Inspectorate in 2018 -19. He launched Girls on Board in 2017 and published Working with Boys in 2021.
